My challenge to only eat what we have grown or produced here starts first thing tomorrow morning.
I have been out and gathered some supplies
I have heaps of eggs, more Oranges on the tree, Silverbeet in the garden, Marron in the dam if I want to go catch one, lots of onions and tomatoes...I have some stock from a rooster in the freezer so I can make some soup if I want. I'm not going to go hungry. I have decided that I am not going to have anything bought from a shop or not from here. A daughter gave us a box of Necterines yesterday...They will have to be put away until Thursday. I have decided to go for three days. Husband will be here for a couple of meals but not whole days and as that will make it easier I am adding the extra day.
I wont have milk, flour, coffee, bread...No salt or pepper or sauces... No anything from anywhere else.
It will be fun!!

Hello Heidi, thanks for commenting...I'd like a coffee, lol.
DeleteBarb.
So, all this came from your yard? Good deal! I just wish I could gather that many supplies from my yard at one time. Maybe you could put up the nectarines or cook to keep from spoiling. Keep us posted. I think giving up milk and Coke would be difficult for me.
ReplyDeleteLinda this is what I picked yesterday afternoon. There's plenty more where that came from. The nectarines that are left are slightly underripe so will keep a few days but yes, some will still need to be preserved somehow.
DeleteI bet you could give up coke for a couple of days...I CHALLENGE you to give up coke for 2 whole days! Before the end of the month. It might be hard but that's why it's a challenge. lol.
Barb.
I gave up Coke from last Sunday until Saturday. Does that count? It was such a round 7 days.
ReplyDeleteYou worked hard for the harvest you can have every day or so. Some day, with a little help maybe I can have my own harvest.
What an inspirng challenge Barb. I'd struggle without my cup of tea with a dash of milk :-)
